TARHEEL STATES SWIM MEET

This past weekend we were in Greensboro, NC for my last short course meet, this was a qualifying meet so a pretty big deal.  I went in basically in the bottom 1/3 of the swimmers with it being my 1st year of year round swim but I came out in most of my events in the top 1/3 and a couple right in the middle.  I picked up 3 more "BB" times and shaved time off time in 8 out of 9 of my individual events and my relay team won 2nd overall in the 200FREE relay and FIRST place in the 200 MEDLEY relay....I was lead off swimmer in the free and anchor in the medley.  I was super excited to have all my Grandparents travel from Tennessee to see me swim!  Now we practice for a few weeks and my first long course meet is April 28th!

Spring Break 2017

I have been on Spring Break since the 10th and even though I could not miss swim practice with Tarheel States coming up next weekend we were able to get away for a few days.  We rented a cabin in Banner Elk which was super fun!  We spent some time on the slopes on Sugar Mountain, hung out in the hot tub and played pool at the chalet.  We also explored the little town of Blowing Rock one day which was pretty fun.  It snowed a little most days we were there which is not your idea of Spring Break but we had a lot of fun!  Back to swim practice tonight and school tomorrow.....

A super weekend for me on the pool deck!

I know, I know but this post is a lot more exciting than the last 10 swimming posts...LOL!  I did a lot of swimming this past weekend in the B/C Champs meet here in Charlotte.  Saturday was one of those days you just pretty much hang right at your entered times(which is not bad) but I was able to shave off almost 3 seconds in my 100 backstroke.  Sunday I showed up to win!  I placed 1st overall in the 100 individual medley and took off over 8 seconds...woohoo!  Up next I had the 50 freestyle which I also placed 1st overall, then the 200 freestyle which I took off almost 6 seconds and placed 1st overall.  I placed 4th in my 50 backstroke and my relay team placed 2nd in the 200 free relay....I went in as the fastest so I was the anchor which is pretty cool!  Up next the weekend of March 24th-26th I will swim in Greensboro.  I qualified for the Tarheel States meet and am excited as all my Grandparents will make the trip from Tennessee.
