We all went to Essex for a little holiday get together and what a special treat it was when all the characters started walking through the train cars. We met a reindeer, penguin, mouse, Mrs. Clause and HOHO too!!!!

I love this time of year....

This week all the parents were able to pick a day to volunteer for a fun Holiday activity with my class...Mommy & me picked gingerbread houses and Monday was her day. We had so much fun and all my friends enjoyed putting the houses together, decorating and eating the candies!! I think we did pretty good???

A really cold but fun day in NYC!!!

So Gigi and Poppy have been here all week from Tennessee and we have been super busy. We have shopped, played, had some good eats, had some fun in the pool(pics to follow) and even spent the day in the city. We all braved the traffic and the cold weather for the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular and a viewing of the big tree.

Monday, December 6, 2010

so many fun activities happening around here...

decorating and baking is certainly one of my favorites!!!

Here comes Santa (or Ho-Ho the Christmas guy as I call him)...

Today was awesome!!! I have been so excited about visiting Santa, taking him my list and well...showing off my protective eyewear?? In the beginning of the week I was set on wearing my bike helmet but I for got about that once I found my work goggles!! Santa loved it and gave me a high 5 for something about originality and personality shining through. Santa went over my list in detail and hung on to it to pass to his elves.......

A beautiful Fall day spent with Mommy and my grouchy doggies!!

Me, Mommy, Luey and KoKo spent the day at Sherwood Island! We ran up and down the beach kicking a soccer ball and I did alot of bike riding. Luey and KoKo were not all that grouchy:):)

Saturday, November 27, 2010

I did it all by myself...

...who would have ever guessed!!!!!! Mommy let me do the icing and clearly the sprinkles too.:)

What an awesome Turkey Day 2010!!!!!

We were blessed in so many ways as we celebrated Thanksgiving this year!! Mommy cooked for days and we have been talking about how it is hard work but we are very lucky to have all the food to cook. I was very excited to buy food to donate this year and have been talking about that for a week or so.
We are blessed in so many ways and having the wonderful Seymour Family here yesterday was great!! Me and Charlotte played together ALL day while Dylan and Beckett hung out, ate, rested and played too. The parents chatted, cooked and seemed to eat alot of different cheese.:) We all gathered in the dining room for an awesome meal that Mommy prepared and from the conversation it sounded like the traditional Thanksgiving meal was enjoyed by all. I myself ate plain pasta and raspberries....as usual!!

Fall clean-up

We have been hard at work around here cleaning up the massive amounts of leaves!!

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

A Thanksgiving feast at school!

Today was so much fun and I was so happy Mommy and Daddy were there to join in. Me and all my friends had a great time singing all the songs we have been practicing and meeting all the families. As you can see, I was a pilgrim and the hat and necklace were made by my own two hands...with some help from Miss Jen and Miss Kristen.:)

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

getting good....

...at making my own peanut butter sandwich!!

Friday, November 12, 2010

Fun on a beautiful Fall day...(the last few are videos if you click the bottom left corner)

What fun you can have while doing work all the while! Me and Mommy have our yard in tip-top shape and I must admit I miss the big piles of leaves. The late afternoon was even better when Nicholas and Jimmy came over from across the street and were as eager as me to run and jump in the leaves.

A weekend in Boston....

with The Myers family!! I finally got to meet and play with "Baby Holly" and she was too cute. We all had so much fun at the Sam Adams Brewery, lots of restaurants and just hanging in the city.
Typical "Neill style" we...well I got a booboo that required a trip to Boston Children's ER but a few stitches later we rocked on the next stop.

Under the big top...

I cannot believe we almost skipped right over this post but I guess it has been busy around here. Anyway, for the 3rd year in a row we went to the circus and this year daddy was picked to be in the show....hahahahaha.:) He did a great job and we all enjoyed the show!

More Halloween..........(last one is a video)

Man do we know how to celebrate a "holiday" over here...it just keeps going and going and going.:) That being said, I had enough events to give Batman a rest and give my trusty Spider-Man costume a spin for one event on Sunday. We joined in the Saugatuck Island fun with the Seymour Family and what fun that was. Check out those Seymours...they were all in costume and I loved it!

Later, me, Mommy, Daddy, Luey and KoKo enjoyed an evening of trick-or-treat around our neighborhood. I was a pro this year...I walked right up to the doors all by myself, said the traditional "Happy Halloween and trick or treat" and "thank you" once the treat was in the bag.:-)

Halloween Party

Last night was super fun as the playgroup and many more gathered at Ella and Sophia's house for some spooky fun. As you will see, there were super-heroes, princess and fairies as well as ladybugs and bumblebees. I was excited Daddy was in on the fun and accompanied me as" Batman II". A special thanks to the Guidice Family for hosting such a fun party for me and my friends!

Trunk or Treat at school!!

Today was soooo much fun! I was so excited to wear my costume to school and even though Mommy was telling me she was staying there and I would see her later to get treats I did not get it. Once we all got outside I could not believe the festivities going on!! There was spooky music, so many parents there giving out treats and even the cars were decorated. Mommy admitted she needs to do better next year on that front but the treats were the real focus.
I was also informed that this is just the first of many events the Halloween weekend has in store, YAY!!

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Westport BBQ and Blue's festival

Mommy realized last night this post slipped through the cracks but we had so much fun she wanted to backstep!! It was certainly a warm day in late September here in Connecticut but nonetheless me and Charlotte has a super great time!

big changes in my day to day!

Unfortunately my new school-year did not get off to a good start. I will not get into the details but the short of the long was I was not happy and it was simply not turning out to be a positive experience. After lots of consideration, investigation and observation Mommy chose a new school for me. The good news is I love it! I started this week and am so happy. I wake up and voice that I am ready to go to my new school, I sing the songs and have very positive feedback regarding my teachers. Mommy and Daddy call this preschool a "play-based" learning environment and I am not having trouble in the least leaving behind the "Montessori way" of doing things. Another great part is Mommy had options on how many days to send me so I get to stay home on Wednesdays now...WOOHOO!! I am a bit of a "home-body" so this works well for me.:)

A rough week...........

this has been a tough week starting from last Saturday afternoon when I felt pretty lousy and the fevers started. By Monday morning I had a fever of 103.6 but still no symptoms(Mommy was pretty concerned). Anyway, Daddy had the day off so the 3 of us headed to the pediatrician where it was just thought to be viral and we came on home. By the afternoon fevers were still around 103 on and off and I began to complain about pain in my belly specifically on the right side. Finally a symptom but apparently not a good one.....Dr. Lori sent us to Yale Children's ER where we spent the evening and into the morning being checked out. It was not appendicitis but something that presents like that and apparently sends alot of kiddos my age to the ER. My fever was above 104 when we arrived but they had me feeling better soon. I was so not a fan of the "shot that stays in" or the IV as Mommy called it but I did get many complements on what a brave and well-mannered patient I was. I am finally fever free and got out of the house today.

A visit to Pumpkinseed Hill pumpkin patch with DiDi

Today we had a great time pickin' pumpkins, running through the pumpkin patch and taking a hay ride! We came home with a fabulous pumpkin that looks great on our front porch.

Fun with DiDi continues....

....yesterday I was out of school for parent/teacher conferences so we took full advantage of the "free day". We enjoyed taking Didi to a fun place with lots of neat things to do. DiDi and me enjoyed stories at bedtime too!!

Little KoKie girl turns 7(Last pic is a video for those interested)

Our sweet girl had a birthday celebration today! Mommy let me pick out the plates, balloons and such so Spider-man it was for KoKo's 7th bday party.:) Everyone loved the cupcakes, especially me.:) Happy Birthday KoKo, we love you!!

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Now my Nana is here............

How lucky am i...my Poppy was here for 2 weeks and only one day after he headed back to Tennessee my Nana rolled in. We have had a fun time despite having to play around school hours and all the rainy weather! Nana is a good pitcher and since Poppy left I am a good hitter.:)

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Welcome Fall!!

What better way to embrace AUTUMN than to go apple picking and play in the pumpkin patch. Me and Mommy took Poppy to the infamous Silverman's Farm for a fun afternoon. He had a good time and enjoyed the apple doughnut as much as me.:) Let's hope Mommy whips up some goodies with all the apples sooner rather than later!!

Monday, September 20, 2010

Go Bulldogs...(last pic is a video)

This past Saturday we all enjoyed a beautiful day and a really fun football game. Yale was victorious and given how much Poppy loves college football he really enjoyed the game!

Friday, September 17, 2010

New games to play!

So Poppy is still here and we are enjoying alot of new things together. We have joined up with some neighborhood boys and they have introduced me to lacrosse(I love it). Mommy and Poppy picked me up a small hockey net with sticks too and we have been outside enjoying the nice weather almost constantly!!

School is back in session!

So I started back to school yesterday and I am proud to say it was a great day! I will be going 5 days a week from 9-12:30 and will enjoy lunch with my friends. I am now in what Montessori schools call the "primary" class which has 3, 4 and 5 years olds alike in the same classroom. I am looking forward to a fun year and wish everyone the best of luck for a great school-year!!

Summer vacation part 2...

so the fun continued as we did some shopping, spent more time at the beach and enjoyed the "big red jeep" another day. Me and Mommy got to go for a paddle-boat ride though Mommy was a bit reluctant as she did all the work.:-) Mommy & Daddy were so impressed with me swimming independently in my spider-man life-jacket and I especially loved swimming in the "warm water pool"(hot-tub). Check out my new friends that made the trip back..."Wormy & Lollipop" are crazy critters and have a new friend from a local pet store since joining our family in Connecticut. Pics of my batman crab to follow. Anyway, I digress...the OBX were awesome and we plan to return next year. Mommy ended the slideshow with pictures of the evacuation. The line of traffic to get off the island was really stressful(we went 9.8 miles in 4 hours)but nonetheless, a great vacation was had by all.

SUMMER VACATION 2010....(Part 1)

We just returned from the Outer banks in NC...yes, we were evacuated and our vaca was cut a bit short. Anyway, we had such a good time it was not the end of the world to leave early. We were busy, busy each and every day. We enjoyed our beach home to the fullest...it had an in-ground pool, hot-tub, sand volleyball and enough bedrooms/bathrooms for 5 families. Luey & KoKo loved the house but especially the big window upstairs.
We spent alot of time at the beach where we played in the big waves(thanks hurricane Danielle), built sand castles(bat caves) and got to fly my special kite that came from the famous "Kitty Hawk Kites". We also traded in the outback for a "Butiful" red Jeep which we got to drive on the beach for 2 days. We played a round of miniature golf where I was apparently a crazy man and I loved the race cars with Daddy.

Aidan turns 3!

Aidan had a really fun party at "Next Dimensions Gymnastics" on Saturday. I myself loved jumping into the foam blocks!!!

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

My 1st bicycle..."bysissle"

So here is the story...apparently Daddy was thinking I could get a bike for my birthday but Mommy was certain I was too little...so it did not happen. Fast forward 5 weeks later(yesterday) and I see a bike on display in Walmart hop on and pedal away!! Mommy was shocked and very excited. Daddy had an "I told you so moment" and I left with this super cool Spider-Man bike!!! Watch me go..................

Saturday, August 21, 2010

a simple picnic...

...in our front yard. The afternoons/evenings are beginning to cool off nicely and "we" want to stay outside a little bit longer. Mommy thought up a fun way to make it happen.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

aaaarrrrrgggghhhh!!!!

Charlotte had the coolest party ever...it was a pirate party on the beach. Everyone had such a good time and I know I was so happy to get to celebrate my BF turning 3 just like me.:) Check out the AWESOME cake her Mommy had brought in for her all the way from Brooklyn, NY. A chocolate pirate ship with Dora at the helm...what a cool cake!

Try not to be jealous when you see my moves...I really did break it down at the music event the other week.

fun inside on a rainy day

Didi sent me this super cool tunnel and tent combo for my birthday. Mommy is not much of a fan as it takes over the entire family room but what else are you gonna do on a rainy day?? I myself LOVE it!!

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Princess Scarlett is now 3 too...

What a great day for an outdoor party! Scarlett had us all over to celebrate her birthday and we had so much fun! It was so good to see some friends I have not connected with this Summer as well as make some new ones. My favorite thing of the day (other than cupcakes) was the roller coaster ride.:) Happy Birthday Scarlett!!
Afterwards the Neill's and the Seymour's grabbed a bite to eat. These pics at the end of the slideshow are from the burger place and sooo do not show my true behavior while trying to have dinner.

Olivia turns 3 and Nate turns 1!!!

I am a bit behind yet again on my blogging but man is Summertime busy. Anyway, I wanted to share some pics from an awesome party with really great friends. Olivia and Nate sure know how to have a big celebration. It was so much fun catching up with some friends I have not seen in a while as well as running around like crazy with many others!! Happy Birthday Olivia & Nate and thanks for including me in the celebrations!

Aunt Bevie & Uncie Dave visit me

Check out Uncie Dave sporting my Batman cape...pretty cool!!

What fun we had with Bevie and Dave! We played hide N' seek, chase, read books, went shopping and so much more. I am so lucky to have these 2 really special people in my life and am so glad they came all the way from TN to see me(well...us). Mommy, Daddy, Luey & KoKo enjoyed their company too.:)
P.S. they brought us so many wonderful veggies from their garden and I have been living on OKRA for days...I love it!!!

A trip to another "muzezum"

Who knew we had a museum right here in Ct with dinosaurs??? Me and Mommy had a great day visiting the Peabody museum in New Haven the other day. It is certainly alot smaller than the museum in the city but we had such a great time. Mommy took me out for a little lunch date afterwards and I was super excited b/c they had outdoor seating.

Three year update...

Monday I had my appointment with Dr. Lori and though I was a bit hesitant about going, "no Dr. Lori house, I can't"!!!!!!! The visit went well. I weighed in at 33lbs. (50th percentile) and my height was 38 1/4"(70th percentile). Dr. Lori asked me a bunch of questions an I was able to answer appropriately though she wanted me to draw a circle and I mostly scribbled. I recognize a circle but am not into the arts and crafts, drawing, crayons and such...Mommy says we will work on that.:) I was not impressed with the needle to the leg but apparently these immunizations are necessary???

DEVELOPMENTAL UPDATE & RANDOM INFO ABOUT ME:

Cognitive development
I know my name, age and sex
I can follow 2-3 step directions (though this skill is selective at times):-)
I have a very active imagination and often pretend my stuffed animals or even cars/trucks talk back to me
I can consistently count to 11, sing the "A,B,C song" as well as recognize about 10 letters of the alphabet independently.
Social development
I openly express affection
I understand "mine" vs. "yours" (though may not always agree)
spontaneously plays with others anywhere at anytime!!!
I have been potty trained during day-time hours since February...still wear pull-ups at night

Speech/Language development
uses plurals, pronouns and complete sentences
often asks "why" or "what"
speech is understandable by most almost all of the time. Dr. Lori said I am right where I need to be with articulation, annunciation and vocabulary...YAY!
Sensory and motor development(Gross motor)
I can run, kick a ball, jump, pedal a tricycle and climb really well.
I am pretty good on my new scooter too
fine motor skills
I can get myself almost completely dressed & undressed with exception of zippers, buttons etc...
I can go peepee on the potty completely independently
I can pretty much stack blocks up to a tower of 10 plus, string beads and am pretty crafty with the PlayStation controller though I do not get to play much.:(

Just a few other notable things about me...I LOVE books and a few of my faves are "Green Eggs and Ham", Curious George books and the best ones of all are the "How do Dinosaurs..." series. I have pretty much all of them and read them 10 times a day. I really love motorcycles, airplanes and red cars. My favorite color is orange without a doubt. I am pretty obsessed with wearing a batman shirt(not really sure who the character is) and my rain boots. I sleep in my boots almost every night. I can point out Tennessee and Ct on a map and Texas too but not real sure why??? I guess that's enough for now.:)
Mommy thinks it only fair to add that my sleeping is TERRIBLE!!!! I changed to my toddler race-car bed the last week of May and since then I stay awake until almost 11PM at times, wake up between 5 and 6AM and on occasion I am waking between 12am & 3AM. Dr. Lori made some suggestions and I think a plan is in motion. I have also dropped my nap 2 or 3 days a week and it has become apparent that I am simply over-tired. Something about skipping some steps in the sleep cycle brings about bad sleep habits so my new bedtime is 7 or 7:30PM depending on if I nap??? We will let you know how it goes!!

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

My Nana was here last week!!

I did not intend on this getting posted so late but man is it busy around here!! Anyway, my Nana was here for my birthday week and I love when she visits. She played in the pool with me, Spent the day at Lake Mohegan with us, went to my birthday party and did other fun stuff like read me books and watch a couple my favorite shows. We also went to an outdoor children's concert at Waveny Park in New Canaan which was really fun. I danced my booty off and was glad to see my friend Aidan there dancing too. She likes Max and Ruby too.:) I hated to see her go but hope to see her soon!!

A special thank you to Nana, Mamaw, Aunt Helen, Gigi & Poppy for my awesome swing set...Daddy has a little more work to do on it but I am enjoying it so much. I hope you enjoy the video, I could not have been more excited when I opened up my Spider-Man scooter, watch me go!!
Didi sent me a croquet set that will surely have videos to post by the weekend.:)

Mommy wanted to travel back in time a bit with some pics so here you go. I have my 3yr appointment with Dr. Lori Monday so we will certainly post that info then.

I'm turning 3 this week...

...and we celebrated big time yesterday with a really fun party. I am so excited to have my Nana here this week for all the celebrating and I am pretty sure she had almost as much fun as me yesterday at my party. Mommy & Daddy had me a fantastic party at Pump-it-Up! I am so blessed to have so many wonderful friends and even luckier that they all showed up to help me celebrate my 3rd birthday. We bounced, ran, jumped and even fell down so much that by the time they called us for pizza, drinks and cupcakes everybody was more than ready!!

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can...

While shopping at party city this weekend for last minute birthday supplies I spotted this super cool outfit. My 3rd birthday party is actually dinosaur themed but I had to have this. I know the entire theme song and am pretty spider-man obsessed at the moment!!! I wore this outfit around in the 90 degree heat as well as to bed the first couple night.:)
PS, the snow boots are an added bonus as my rain boots that I sleep in 7 nights a week were wet!!

"Toddler Bed" freedoms....

...being exercised! After a crazy busy long weekend and very little napping Chandler appeared to be passed out asleep by 8:30 last night in his bed! However, as I made my way up the stairs at 11PM I found him like this in the window-seat at the top of the stairs...thank goodness he still had his shoes on?????

Happy 4th of July 2010!

It has been a super fun weekend so far but last night was soooo much fun! We were invited to The Seymour's for a Holiday celebration. I was so excited to see so many of my friends and their baby siblings. Me, Charlotte, Aidan, Mia and Ella had a great time running around and playing. Check out how cute Dylan, Beckett, Sophia and Jonah are...and how fast they are growing up. Kids & parents alike enjoyed alot of yummy food and the walk to the beach for the fantastic firework show rounded out a great evening. BIG thanks to Char-Char's Mommy & Daddy for being such wonderful hosts as always!

Swimming pools for Summer of 2010....

...take 1, 2 and 3!!!! For those that follow closely you know we started off Memorial Day weekend with a new double-decker super fun swimming pool. I had alot of fun in it but it proved to be a bit of work cleaning it, moving it, filling it... so we moved on. Daddy decided to go ahead and get a pool big enough for all of us and one that was maintained by a filter, chemicals etc... Well, that was FANTASTIC for about a week and it collapsed a couple times. Needless to say Daddy was irritated with how much more involved this one was what with the 1500 gallons of water it held and had to be refilled 3 times in 8 days. Now for the grand finale...Daddy went even bigger and this one is very sturdy. It took a bit of work with leveling the yard, assembly and filling it with 2200 gallons of water but it is AWESOME!!!!!

A car wash get together with friends

Ella had us over the other day to play. Everyone was asked to bring their favorite ride. Ella's Mommy set up cones and buckets for all of us to pull up for a "car wash". We had alot of fun and all the rides needed a wash as it rained earlier. Note that I am in long-sleeves and it was about 85 degrees and soooo humid. Mommy and me had disagreed all day regarding me wearing my Batman shirt but she finally gave up let it go. I WAS MISERABLE!!!!!

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

A budding photographer????

Chandler was able to sneak my small camera, take pics and even nap with it???? I think he did a pretty good job.:)

Father's Day part 2...

What a great day we had! We treated Daddy to a really great brunch at a place called "Splash" in Westport...he just kept going back for the yummy oysters and sushi, but i myself decided on a fresh-made Belgian waffle and fruit. Okay, so I may have had a piece of carrot cake too.:) We had a great surprise there too, The Seymour Family had the same idea for Father's Day and you know I was super excited to see Charlotte!!! Anyway, after that we all were pleasantly surprised that the sky remained blues and the sun was bright. We played in our new pool and had so much fun.
