To the boat show we go...

Today we went to the Connecticit boat show so Mommy could pick out a Valentine's Day present. Okay, maybe not.:) We did have a fun time getting to tour all the big boats, and I made a friend.

6 month check-up today

I weighed in at 17pounds 12 ounces and I am 27 inches long. I am really not impressed with the needles, but at least the 9 month visit does not involve shots. :)

6 months old today!!!

The last 2 weeks have been filled with a lot of new experiences. I now enjoy a daily meal (rice cereal) at the dining room table, Mommy or Daddy brush my 2 teeth 2 or 3 times a day and I sleep unswaddled. I must admit, the sleeping unswaddled is proving to be a challenge. About 10 days ago I simply refused to be all wrapped up and I have only slept through the entire night 3 or 4 times without waking up. I will continue to work at it and I appreciate Mommy being so patient. :) I continue to enjoy my music and gym class and look forward to starting sign language class in a couple of weeks. Below is a little summary of what is going on with regards to my physical/motor/sensory and cognitive markers:
* I sit unsupported.
* I occasionally roll from my back to my stomach.
* I bear almost all my weight when supported in a standing position.
* I reach and grasp any/every object, as well as transfer objects from one hand to the other.
* I attempt to hold my own bottle and am pretty good with a spoon.
* I look for toys when I drop them(realizing they are still near) and I can really show my frustration if I am not able to reach it.
* I love mirrors and will have a riveting conversation with myself.
* I imitate sounds, as well as laugh and squeal with delight.
* I always turn in the direction of Mommy and/or Daddy's voice, and if I hear my own name.
* I love to engage anyone in the game of "I throw a toy off the tray or table and you pick it up", but my favorite passtime is PEEK-A-BOO! (check it out)

A very big day!!!

So, it looks like all fun and games, huh!!? I will admit, I had fun with my first balloon today, as you can see. Later in the day I was dumped with the neighbors so Mommy and Daddy could "go out". Whatever!! No, really, I had a great time with the babysitters (our neighbors), I played with them for about 2 hours and did not complain one bit. Happy 5yr anniversary Mommy & Daddy!!!

YUM YUM (I THINK) :-)

Well, as you can see I have began a new chapter. The process started out a bit slow but as you will see in the pics I caught on very quickly. Check out what a big helper I was towards the end. I would also like you to note the big mess Mommy and Daddy made with the rice cereal. :)

The first week of '08 has been exciting!!!

I hope 2008 is off to a great start for eveyone. I am very pleased to announce I can sit up on my own, check out the pics. I think I really surprised Mommy and Daddy because I overheard them saying I would most likely sit without their support in a few weeks. Another exciting thing at the Neill household is me at the dining room table. Check out my highchair, pretty cool. Mommy picked the chair out, it is the STOKKE, TRIPP TRAPP chair and I can use it forever. That's right, it adjusts for infants, toddlers, children, teens etc... Thanks DiDi & Grandaddy, I love it. Did anyone notice I am in the kitchen sink? Mommy hurt her back today and was unsure she could get down in the floor, therefore, I got a bath in the kitchen. :)

Christmas in Tn & CT

My Christmas was so magical, it has taken me 3 blogs to get everything in. I want to tell everyone in TN that I miss each and every one of you. I received so many hugs and kisses from everybody that I brought some all the way back to Connecticut. :) Thank you so much for all the amazing presents. I included my visit from Santa in this set of pics(page 4), check out my Tonka truck(Daddy really likes it too).

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Mommy, Daddy and I want to wish everyone much love, laughter and happiness in the new year. As you can see I am cruisin' into '08 in style. Poppy and GiGi brought me this car months ago and I am finally big enough to drive .:)

Sean and Jaime Byrnes arrived from San Francisco for the holidays and we were excited to hang out with them for the day. They were both very sweet to me and I hope they have a safe trip back home.

I will be adding "part 3" of my TN Christmas in a day or so, Mommy has to work on a few more pics.
