Three year update...

Monday I had my appointment with Dr. Lori and though I was a bit hesitant about going, "no Dr. Lori house, I can't"!!!!!!! The visit went well. I weighed in at 33lbs. (50th percentile) and my height was 38 1/4"(70th percentile). Dr. Lori asked me a bunch of questions an I was able to answer appropriately though she wanted me to draw a circle and I mostly scribbled. I recognize a circle but am not into the arts and crafts, drawing, crayons and such...Mommy says we will work on that.:) I was not impressed with the needle to the leg but apparently these immunizations are necessary???

DEVELOPMENTAL UPDATE & RANDOM INFO ABOUT ME:

Cognitive development
I know my name, age and sex
I can follow 2-3 step directions (though this skill is selective at times):-)
I have a very active imagination and often pretend my stuffed animals or even cars/trucks talk back to me
I can consistently count to 11, sing the "A,B,C song" as well as recognize about 10 letters of the alphabet independently.
Social development
I openly express affection
I understand "mine" vs. "yours" (though may not always agree)
spontaneously plays with others anywhere at anytime!!!
I have been potty trained during day-time hours since February...still wear pull-ups at night

Speech/Language development
uses plurals, pronouns and complete sentences
often asks "why" or "what"
speech is understandable by most almost all of the time. Dr. Lori said I am right where I need to be with articulation, annunciation and vocabulary...YAY!
Sensory and motor development(Gross motor)
I can run, kick a ball, jump, pedal a tricycle and climb really well.
I am pretty good on my new scooter too
fine motor skills
I can get myself almost completely dressed & undressed with exception of zippers, buttons etc...
I can go peepee on the potty completely independently
I can pretty much stack blocks up to a tower of 10 plus, string beads and am pretty crafty with the PlayStation controller though I do not get to play much.:(

Just a few other notable things about me...I LOVE books and a few of my faves are "Green Eggs and Ham", Curious George books and the best ones of all are the "How do Dinosaurs..." series. I have pretty much all of them and read them 10 times a day. I really love motorcycles, airplanes and red cars. My favorite color is orange without a doubt. I am pretty obsessed with wearing a batman shirt(not really sure who the character is) and my rain boots. I sleep in my boots almost every night. I can point out Tennessee and Ct on a map and Texas too but not real sure why??? I guess that's enough for now.:)
Mommy thinks it only fair to add that my sleeping is TERRIBLE!!!! I changed to my toddler race-car bed the last week of May and since then I stay awake until almost 11PM at times, wake up between 5 and 6AM and on occasion I am waking between 12am & 3AM. Dr. Lori made some suggestions and I think a plan is in motion. I have also dropped my nap 2 or 3 days a week and it has become apparent that I am simply over-tired. Something about skipping some steps in the sleep cycle brings about bad sleep habits so my new bedtime is 7 or 7:30PM depending on if I nap??? We will let you know how it goes!!
