MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope everyone had a magical Christmas with family and friends!  I was still running a fever and felt lousy most of the day but I did get out in the fresh air and was able to ride my new hover board a bit.  I am thinking I was at the top of the nice list with all the amazing things Santa brought me!  Happy New Year to everyone!!  We are blessed!

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS....

Well, it has been an interesting Christmas Eve...I had a visit to the pediatrician and have been running a fever between 100-103.5.  I am happy to say as I go to bed I am down to 99.8 and felt good enough to sprinkle my "Magic Reindeer Food" on the lawn and play with Cooper a bit.  I am wishing each and everyone of you a blessed Christmas....make every moment count with family and friends.

Who doesn't love brunch with Santa and friends....right?  This past Sunday we went to the club with a bunch of friends and got to see Santa, take a little train ride, decorate cookies and enjoy some good eats...I had french toast, strawberries and homemade whipped topping.

Sunday we went to Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens to check out their 5000 plus lights, Santa and all the fun holiday festivities.  I had a blast with my friends Liam, Beckham and their little brother Gabe.

It's Christmas time!

Yesterday was the Fort Mill Christmas parade which is always FUN!  I walked the parade with my Tae Kwon Do group.  It could not have been a more beautiful day though a bit chilly.  Merry Christmas!!

My football season has come to an end!

I cannot tell you how much fun playing tackle football has been and how much I look forward to the next time!  I have learned so many things from football!  I have learned plays, discipline, how you can truly push yourself one more step when you thin you just can't.  I played defense the entire season but I became the teams kicker about half way thru the season...this was awesome!  I got to call plays and did every kick off in every game!  Last night we had our end of the season party at SkyZone jump house.  I got a trophy and a plaque for joining the SCAA and cannot wait to come back again stronger and smarter. 

My school rocks!

Last Thursday Gaston Day School had a big send off for our very sweet security guard, Jack Brown.  Mr. Brown was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer and is leaving soon for treatment at Duke.  Mr. Brown is an avid cyclist and rides his bike around campus helping to watch over everyone.  We had "Jack Brown Day" and were aloud to bring in our bikes and ride around campus in his honor for a big send off.  We wish him all the best....hugs and prayers to Mr. Brown! 

Football game...BIG WIN!

This past Saturday we had a game against the Steelers...we knew they were tough going in.  We played super awesome and even though the game went into triple overtime we pulled out a win and I was the kicker....it was awesome!

A really BIG DAY!

This past Saturday I got my big chance...I was the kicker for my football team!  I did not kick the field goals as we have a 10 yr. old about as tall as my Mom that can kick a lot higher than me and a bit further. I kicked off every time! We suffered a terrible blow out of a loss but you win some you lose some!

Fall tennis

This has been a tough Fall for tennis...most teams do not have enough players for every team member to get a singles or even a doubles match each Sunday.  This past Sunday was a tough one for me as I lost after playing super tough.  A picture is sometimes worth a 1000 words as my Mom says....

A beautiful day for football!

It was a bit early and a bit chilly but perfect football weather.  Unfortunately our Seahawks could not pull off the win and we lost 21-18.  We played tough and will get them next time.  Remember, I am #82...check me out in lots of action shots!

Tae Kwon Do update!

In case you were wondering, yes I am still doing Tae Kwon Do it just gets very intense around this time and takes a lot longer to get to "testing".  Today I tested for my "1st maintenance" and rocked it like a BOSS!  Anyway, all that really means is you are on your way to proving you know all 8 forms so today I was tested on the first 4...yellow belt, yellow belt green strip, green belt and green belt blue strip...whew...it was tough.  I will now got to blue and red belt classes and test for me "2nd maintenance" in January and the MY BLACK BELT IN APRIL!!!!   This is exciting but not an easy road ahead...lots of hard work but I will keep you posted.  

WOOHOO...we are 2 and 1!

This past Saturday we played the Steelers and won!  I played defense again but still crossing my fingers I get a shot on offense one game.  It was pretty miserable weather but thank you to GiGi and Poppy for toughing it out and standing in the rain to cheer me on!  This coming Saturday we play the Cowboys and even though the weather look even more miserable I am "football ready"!  GO SEAHAWKS!

Saturday goes down as a WIN!!!!!!!!

WOOHOO, we won our game this past Saturday against the Eagles!  I played defense again but was moved to safety and I was on special teams.  It was so hot we could hardly stand it but we won the game 27-6.  Back at it tonight for practice.....next game is this coming Saturday against the Steelers.

We had a tough loss Saturday for our first game but I had an awesome time and hope we go out and take a win this coming Saturday for our first away game!  I am #82...Go Seahawks!

Football Jamboree

This past Saturday morning we had to meet to carpool at 6:30 am...ugh! We had the football jamboree in Weddington, NC and even though it is not real games we did well and had fun!  Mom got a few pics but everyone was off their games as it was early and a bit confusing...LOL.  Thanks to Didi and Grandaddy for making the trip to TN to cheer me and my team on!   PS, we are wearing Queens University lacrosse pennys as we are waiting on our official uniforms.

yesterday was my first real tackle football game...and we won!

We had our 1st game and even though it was a scrimmage it was so exciting.  We played the Clover Nighthawks and beat them 21-7.  I played on defense the entire game as a defensive end and I am also on the kick-off team.

....let the games begin!  well, at least the practices for now.  I am so excited to finally be able to give tackle football a go.  I will be on the mighty mites Steelecreek Seahawks.  We have only had 3 practices but check it out, I got my helmet!!!  Rules are strict so I cannot get my shoulder pads until we have been on the field something like 20 hours but I cannot wait!  I must admit, these 2 1/2 hour practices are rough.  We run and run and run as well as throw, catch, tackle dummies, pass and do all sorts of drills...then we run some more.  

A week of wicked fun!

This week I have been at "soldier camp" at the Latta Plantation.  I was on the Confederate side and as you know we were against the Union side!  We have learned all about the Civil War and today had a battle reenactment for the parent.  This was super awesome and I did not get wounded or die!

Man this is a busy Summer...I apologize for not keeping you in my loop!!

I am gonna go with the most recent as my pic editor is way behind(I love you Mom-:)  So this past weekend was AWESOME...we were invited to a place in the mountains with 3 other families...10 adults, 8 kids and 3 dogs.  We slept in teepees, hiked, built fires and just had a blast!

WAY BEHIND...must catch everyone up!

I am actually going to start with the latest event and work my way back...swim team is over for the Summer of 2015.  What an awesome season this was for sure.  I moved up this year from the "shrimps" and got to really branch out and challenge myself as a swimmer.  I am so excited to say I finally got to swim butterfly and did an awesome, "legal" job...I was the only 7 year old boy to master this until the end of the season when a few more joined me.  I was in at least 5 events in every meet and this included both the medley relay(which I was #3 and swam butterfly) as well as the last event of every meet which is the freestyle relay.  I completed my 1st individual 100M medley which is no easy task!  All in all it was a great season and in the end I was awarded MVP of the 7-8 year old boys.  Mom and Dad were pretty excited nobody beat the new records I set last year for freestyle and backstroke so my name is still on the board going into next season.  

I am certainly having fun with our new addition! Oh and guess who turns 8 next week.......

Dog park adventure

We were hoping to find a lake or doggy friendly pool because Cooper has webbed paws and seems very interested in swimming...no such luck.  Oh well, we all had a lot of fun just playing around and meeting new people.

1st swim meet of the Summer

Today was a home meet against the crossing.  I was in 5 events and walked away a 3 time heat winner, came away with one 2nd place and 1 3rd place...woot woot!  I have practiced hard all week both with private lessons and regular team practice so this was awesome!  I was in my first official butterfly event and even though I did not win I shaved almost 4 seconds off my time from last weeks practice meet!  Looking forward to the meet on Tuesday evening...GO PALISADES PIRANHAS!  

Palisades junior tennis team...CHAMPIONS!

I was invited to be on the U8 USTA tennis team at the Palisades CC this Spring and man was it awesome!  I played many singles and doubles matches and learned so much as well as had a blast.  My coach, Christiaan, is awesome and has been my tennis clinic coach since last August.  We were the U8 champs and a shout out to the U10 team as they were champs as well!

I had an awesome year and definitely had the best teacher ever but onward and upward as they say.  I am looking forward to Summertime for sure but definitely 2nd grade and a new school!

Tennis match at Old providence Tennis Club......

Tennis will be ending this weekend and has been a bit more difficult for Mom to get pics.  Many clubs do not allow parents on the courts etc...  Anyway, this was our first indoor match and it was Team Palisades for the win!

I participated in my 2nd triathlon today!

Today was super fun...we had amazing weather for a really fun event!  I wore #149 and swam 50 yards, biked 1 mile and ran 1 mile...finished 5th overall in the 7-10yr old age group.  I must admit I am feeling pretty proud and Cooper was there to cheer me on!

Meet Cooper!

So this happened this weekend...I am still in shock my dreams came true!  Georgia Cooper is a Vizsla...Hungarian hunting dog.  These dogs are super smart, very loyal and beyond awesome with kids.  How cute is he??  He was born February 16th,  we think he will be around 50 pounds full grown.  I will keep you in the loop as we watch him grow.

This soccer season is going to drag on until June at this rate...it rains at least 5 out of every 7 days lately!!  Anyway, we suffered our first loss and believe me it was not even close...they smoked us!  We shall see if the rain hold off for today's game but for now, here are a couple slideshows from the last 2 games. 

SPRING BREAK FUN IN TENNESSEE...

Dad had to hang back in Charlotte for work but me and Mommy took off for Tennessee during my break from school.  It was super fun to see all my Grandparents, celebrate Katelyn turning 7, pass football with Uncle Joseph and just get around Chattanooga a bit.  OH and check out Rock City...super cool!

Tennis Match #2...did not go as well

No doubt when you play sports you win some and you lose some but Sunday was a tough one for me in the singles division!  I lost my 1st match in the first 2 sets and then filled in for somebody in a second round of singles and lost that one as well.  I did take it to the 3rd set but alas lost 7-6.  Things got better when I hit the court with my best buddy Liam...we took a win in the doubles in 2 quick sets!  Charlotte Country Club had some wicked good U8 tennis players, they beat us overall by a good amount.  Maybe next time....

I have started a new adventure...

I have taken tennis lessons here and there and always enjoyed it but starting this past Fall I jumped in full speed ahead.  I LOVE IT!  I was invited to be on the Palisades Tennis Team and play competitively for U8.  I had my first match on March 22nd and won my singles in the the 1st 2 sets and me and my buddy Gabriel dominated in doubles and won!

Saturday was my 1st U10 soccer game....

SUPER fun but you better have your head in the game when you bump up and play with 3rd-5th graders!! I am on a great team with 2 really awesome coaches so this should be a fun Spring! DiDi was here for my 1st game so that was cool too! I have my 2nd game tonight so wish us luck!

We finally had our first practice...Mother Nature has been relentless!  I am playing up with U10 this season and my team will be the Tega Cay Raiders...pretty cool name I guess.  Anyway, shockingly Mom had her camera so here ya go!

Last Sunday was a super fun day at Lake Wylie Bowl N' Bounce...many Dads were with their daughters at the club for the Father/daughter dance while Moms and Sons were firing up the alleys bowling!!

RED BELT/BLACK STRIPE.....

I had my testing at Tae Kwon Do this week...I now have my red belt/black strip.  I will next test for my red belt/double black stripe which you keep for 2 testing cycles before testing for your BLACK BELT!!
I will most likely test for the next belt around May/June...I am closer and closer to the goal!

Happy Birthday Hudson!

My friend Hudson celebrated his birthday at the Panther's stadium this past weekend and it was a blast!  I did choose to wear another NFL jersey so caught a hard time from Sir Purr but it was still a super fun day!

I had a super great Christmas in Tennessee!  We stayed at DiDi and Grandaddy's new house which was super fun...check out the pictures of their pups!  I am so blessed to have my awesome family so close...well, 6 hours away but that is close really.:-)
Anyway, we had fun with Poppy and Gigi and of course all my cousins...we played and played!  It was fun at Nana's house too as more cousins were there and lots of fun was had by all!  I hope everyone had a blessed holiday!
